Mr. Hinkey is a project in progress. Very shortly after he joined our family, Mr. Hinkey began having adventures. This website is dedicated to the adventures of this retired professional...
Mr. Hinkey was purchased on eBay. The previous owner lived in South Carolina and had big plans for him. The plans stopped after a new exhaust system was added where the tail pipes were routed out the sides in front of the rear tires. My dad always wanted to be a truck driver or a hot shot driver when he grew up, so it wasn't difficult for me to talk him into hauling Mr. Hinkey from South Carolina to Texas.
Mr. Hinkey is a large fella, as you can see in comparison to my dad's full sized dodge pickup. The photo above is Mr. Hinkey as he first arrived in the neighborhood. I'm afraid the neighborhood wasn't ready for Mr. Hinkey. Two neighbors think he is cool, and another doesn't like him. Mr. Hinkey was a bit on the heavy side and my dad had 3 blowouts on the trailer on the way home.
The photo above shows Mr. Hinkey not fitting on the trailer. He is 4 feet longer than a Lincoln Navigator and 2 feet longer than a full sized Suburban and weighs about 7000 pounds. I bought that trailer to tow some old Oldsmobile Toronados I used to have. They fit on the trailer nicely, even though they were long cars. They had to put boards under the front tires and hang Mr. Hinkey's front bumper over the tongue of the trailer. He still hangs out in the back over the legal limit...
